Growing vegetables indoors is a very good way to ensure a steady crop of food for the  entire year.

Anybody looking to be self sufficient should definitely look into ways to grow vegetables and fruit indoors. In fact, this is the purpose of this website and we will aim to cover the ins & outs of the entire process involved with growing fruit and veg indoors.

Growing Fruit and Veg indoors isn't a new concept as many people may imagine.

Despite the lack of technology or indeed knowledge of the biology involved with growing crops indoors, it is speculated that civilisations as far back as the ancient egyptians were attempting to grow vegetables and fruit indoors.

In fact, harvesting crops inside has been a relatively popular concept throughout the ages especially at times in the year when a harsh frost could mean the difference between eating and starving.

It is easy to see then, why this concept remains to be very attractive to a lot of people worldwide for a variety of reasons.

As I mentioned earlier, people wishing to be self sufficient could definitely look towards indoor growing to extend their current processes for producing food - For example germinating seeds earlier in the year ready for the warmer months and staggering growth periods to ensure a year-long crop.

Hopefully you will find everything you need within the pages of this website and we have separated the information into 3 different food categories to ensure that everything is as easy to find as possible:
    • Herbs - For people who don't have the space or simply the desire to grow fruit & veg indoors; Herbs are the perfect way to bring your kitchen to life. Herbs are usually the easiest plants to grow indoors which also makes them a perfect starting point for a beginner.
    • Vegetables - In this section we will discuss the techniques and equipment needed to harvest your very own crop of indoor vegetables at any time of the year. Vegetables are harder to grow indoors than Herbs and are perfect for someone wishing to invest a little more time and effort into the processes outlined here.

    • Fruit - In this section we discuss the options available to someone wishing to grow their own fruit and the techniques required. Fruit is usually the hardest plant to grow indoors as they very often require constant conditions such as heat, etc. It is recommended to try growing Herbs & Vegetables before trying Fruit.
